The Problem of Common Sense

How does Kumashiro define “common sense”?

Kumashiro defines common sense as what schools should be doing rather then what schools could be doing. Also that common sense limits what is considered to be consistent with the purposes of schooling. (P. 6-7)

Why is it important to pay attention to common sense?

As Kumashiro told us about her experiences in Nepal and how their common sense is different then in the United States or Canada. Like in Canada in schools we are split by ages and in Nepal they are all placed together in one classroom.
